Today marked the official presentation of Trent Alexander-Arnold as a Real Madrid player. He was handed his new jersey with the number 12 and the name “Trent” on the back—something a bit easier for Spanish fans to pronounce! He’ll now be available for the upcoming Club World Cup.
“We welcome one of the great players in world football, ready to become part of the history of the greatest club of all time,” declared club president Florentino Pérez.
The unveiling took place at the Real Madrid City training complex and began with a video showcasing the defender’s career highlights.
Florentino Pérez then addressed the media:
“Today is another special day for all Madridistas, as we welcome a player who has won everything, one of the top full-backs in the world, and someone who has defined an era at one of the most prestigious clubs in football—Liverpool. Now, he arrives in Madrid, eager to wear this legendary jersey. Welcome, Trent Alexander-Arnold.”
He continued:
“Dear Trent, you are now part of Real Madrid — the most admired and decorated football club in the world, home to 15 European Cups. If you chose this club, it’s because your talent and work ethic have brought you to a place where you believe you can achieve even more. You now have a fanbase ready to support you through every challenge. The Bernabéu awaits you. You’ll live unforgettable moments there — some hard to explain — but its magic and spirit will stay with you forever.”
Family Support
“Your family has been with you at every step. We know how important your parents, Michael and Dianne, and your brothers Tyler and Marcel are to you. They’ve supported your journey through hard work and sacrifice, and now they’re here — along with your partner Estelle — to share this milestone with you.”
First Challenge on the Horizon
“You’ll quickly understand what it means to represent Real Madrid. Every title drives us to chase the next. And the next is the Club World Cup, starting this weekend in the United States — our immediate goal.”
Real Madrid’s Core Values
“This badge and this jersey symbolize hard work, determination, constant improvement, humility, respect, and solidarity. A world-class player is joining us, ready to make history with the greatest club of all time.”
Alexander-Arnold: “I want to win titles and enjoy playing alongside the best in the world”
Trent then took the stage and delivered his first words as a Madridista — in Spanish:
“Thank you to the president and the club for this opportunity. This is a dream come true. I’m very proud and happy to be here. I can’t wait to show Madridistas my game. I know playing for Real Madrid is a huge responsibility, but I’m ready to give it my all. I want to win trophies, grow as a player, and enjoy playing with the best in the world. ¡Hala Madrid!”
Medical Check Completed
Before his official unveiling, Trent Alexander-Arnold underwent a medical exam at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital.
