We now have the official list of all the players registered for the upcoming Club World Cup, which begins on June 15 (although our first match is on Wednesday, June 18 against Al-Hilal).
In the end, the reinforcements included the signings of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold. There are other advanced signings like Álvaro Carreras and the Argentine Mastantuono, but they won’t make it in time for the Club World Cup — we’ll have to see if those deals are finalized afterward.
It’s worth noting that we do have Modrić and Lucas Vázquez available, although both will leave after the tournament. The good news is that players coming back from long-term injuries — such as Militão and Carvajal — are traveling and might get some minutes, along with Alaba, Endrick, Mendy, Camavinga, and Rüdiger, who are also recovering. Only Vallejo is not traveling, as his contract ends on June 30 and will not be extended.
There are also many academy players included, such as Gonzalo, Víctor Muñoz, Chema, Mario Martín, and others — which gives a lot of depth to Xabi Alonso’s first tournament as head coach, where we’ll gradually start to see his preferences and style.
