Miami Dolphins vs. Washington Commanders, NFL at the Bernabéu

We now have a date for the first-ever NFL game in Spain, which will take place at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. It’s set for Sunday, November 16 at 3:30 PM Spanish time, and we now know which two teams will face off.

It will be a matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Commanders, with the Dolphins designated as the “home” team. Star players like Tyreek Hill, Jayden Daniels, Deebo Samuel, and Tua Tagovailoa are expected to take the field.

The announcement came yesterday, May 13, when the National Football League (NFL) revealed the schedule for the 2025 International Games. This is part of the NFL’s commercial strategy to promote American football globally by hosting several games in other countries.

Brett Gosper, NFL Head of Europe and Asia-Pacific, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome the Washington Commanders to Spain for our first-ever regular season NFL game in Madrid, an incredible global city.”

“This historic clash between the Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders further demonstrates the league’s commitment to growing the sport worldwide. We’re looking forward to sharing this landmark event at the Bernabéu—a world-class stadium and home to Real Madrid—with fans across Spain and around the globe.”

    Other International Games

The Bernabéu game will be the final international matchup of the year. The series kicks off on September 5 in São Paulo, Brazil, with the Los Angeles Chargers facing a yet-to-be-announced opponent.

The NFL then heads to Europe on September 28 for a game in Dublin, Ireland between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings, followed by three games in London, United Kingdom during October. After that, the league returns to Berlin, Germany in November before wrapping up in Madrid.

    How to Get Tickets

Tickets are not yet on sale, but it’s expected that once they are, the announcement will be widely publicized (and the Bernabéu is likely to sell out). In the meantime, fans can register for updates at this [link].
