Djokovic and Simone Biles were at the Bernabéu with Florentino

Yesterday we won 1-0 against Athletic Club in a very important match, with a last-minute goal in the 93rd minute that was key to keeping our title hopes alive.

But that wasn’t the only exciting thing that happened yesterday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. We had some exceptional guests—five legends of sport: the greatest tennis player in history, Novak Djokovic (the player with the most Grand Slam titles ever—24); the greatest gymnast of all time, Simone Biles (11 Olympic medals); Mondo Duplantis, Olympic champion and world record holder in pole vault; Rebeca Andrade, Brazilian gymnast with 6 Olympic medals; and Kelly Slater, 11-time world surfing champion.

They enjoyed the match from the VIP box of our stadium, where they were welcomed by club president Florentino Pérez.

Djokovic himself later went down to the pitch, getting an up-close view of the stadium, which he called “the best stadium in the world.” He watched the match there with his children and even hinted that he wouldn’t rule out playing a match there someday.

They’re all in Madrid for the Laureus World Sports Awards, as well as to prepare for the Madrid Masters tennis tournament (Madrid Mutua Open), where Djokovic will compete against players like Alcaraz in hopes of winning the title again.
