The Official Statement on Ancelotti’s Departure from Real Madrid

It took some time, but Real Madrid has finally accelerated its pace with official announcements as the season comes to a close. After Modrić’s announcement yesterday, today it’s Ancelotti’s turn.

Although Brazil had already officially announced it days ago, interestingly, Real Madrid had not done so until today (Xabi Alonso will be presented on Monday). This also helps facilitate farewells during the last league match at the Bernabéu.

In fact, announcements for Lucas Vázquez are expected shortly (though he is supposedly playing in the Club World Cup), and for Vallejo as well, although curiously, he seems unlikely to play in the tournament since his contract ends on June 30 and will not be extended by a month.

    Official Statement from Real Madrid:

Real Madrid C.F. and Carlo Ancelotti have reached an agreement to bring his time as coach of Real Madrid to an end. Our club would like to express its gratitude and affection to someone who is one of the great legends of Real Madrid and of world football.

Carlo Ancelotti has led our team through one of the most successful periods in our 123-year history and has become the most decorated coach in our history: 3 European Cups, 3 Club World Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 2 LaLiga titles, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, and 2 Spanish Super Cups. In total, 15 titles over the six seasons he has spent at our club.

For Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez: “Carlo Ancelotti is now and forever part of the great Real Madrid family. We are proud to have enjoyed the presence of a coach who helped us achieve so much success and who, moreover, represented the values of our club in an exemplary way.”

Tomorrow, the Santiago Bernabéu will pay tribute to him in what will be Carlo Ancelotti’s final match as Real Madrid’s head coach.

Real Madrid wishes him and his family the very best in this new chapter of their lives.

    Ancelotti’s Letter:

Today, our paths part once again. Today, I carry in my heart every moment experienced during this wonderful second spell as Real Madrid coach. These have been unforgettable years, an incredible journey full of emotions, titles, and, above all, the pride of representing this badge.

Thank you to President Florentino Pérez, the club, my players, my staff, and above all, to this unique fanbase that has always made me feel like one of their own. What we have achieved together will forever remain in the memory of Madridistas, not only for the triumphs but for the way we achieved them. The magical nights at the Bernabéu are now part of football history.

Now a new adventure begins, but my bond with Real Madrid is eternal.

    See you soon, Madridistas.

    Hala Madrid y Nada Más.
