Kylian Mbappé scored two more goals in Real Madrid’s 1-2 victory against Villarreal, bringing his tally to 20 goals in La Liga and 31 goals in total this season (20 in La Liga, 2 in the Copa del Rey, and 9 in the Champions League and other international competitions). You can watch all the 31 goals here.
Update (04/05/2025): already 36 goals.
Mbappé Could Break the Goal Record in His First Season with Real Madrid
It’s an impressive number, although many feel it could be even better. However, it’s already starting to look like a record, especially when considering a player’s first season at a club—in this case, Real Madrid.
In fact, he has already surpassed Ronaldo Nazário (Brazilian Ronaldo), who scored 30 goals in his first season. Now, only Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo remain ahead with 33 goals each. At the top of the list is Iván Zamorano, the legendary Chilean striker fondly remembered at the Bernabéu for his goal-scoring instinct, who netted 37 goals in his debut season.
Do you think Mbappé can surpass Zamorano’s 37-goal record?
