Bad news for Real Madrid, where it seems like every day another player gets injured (or drops out), and at this rate, even Florentino Pérez himself might have to step in and play.
The latest addition to the list is Endrick, who had to be substituted in the last match against Sevilla due to an injury. It has now been confirmed that he has a joint tendon injury in his right hamstring. That means about two months out, so he’ll miss the Club World Cup, which starts on June 18.
A Chaotic End to the Season
Real Madrid’s season finale is turning into a mess. Since the end of the Copa del Rey, it’s been injury after injury, multiple medical reports (three in a single day), players disappearing, Ancelotti signing with Brazil before the season even ends (and apparently already releasing Brazil’s preliminary lists), while Real Madrid hasn’t released any statement—not even confirming that Xabi Alonso will be the next coach (although everyone assumes it’s a done deal).
Endrick is wrapping up a very poor debut season with Real Madrid. He’s barely played, hasn’t shown a good attitude, and aside from a couple of flashes and isolated goals, his season has been forgettable. We’ll have to see what Xabi Alonso decides to do with him, but without a doubt, the best option would be to loan him out to a team where he can shine, develop as a player, and return more mature.
For the Club World Cup, Madrid will have to bring in some offensive reinforcements. Huijsen will go, and there’s hope that Alexander-Arnold can join, along with any other signings that get confirmed in the coming days. It will also be a good opportunity for academy players like Gonzalo and Víctor Muñoz, who have performed well for Castilla (and even in the first team when given the chance, like in the recent match against Sevilla).
