Good news for all Madridistas! Even though we’ve had a great few months and almost forgotten about it, two key players have been sidelined for a long time: Militao and Carvajal.
Both are crucial members of the squad, but especially Dani Carvajal, who has won six Champions League titles—a feat only achieved by five players in football history, all of them from Real Madrid: Paco Gento, Toni Kroos, Nacho, Luka Modric, and Dani Carvajal.
Carvajal has spent 12 seasons at Real Madrid (aside from a year at Bayer Leverkusen after coming through La Fábrica, playing two seasons for Castilla). He has been an essential player, known for his exceptional defensive contributions, numerous assists, and even key goals, including some in Champions League finals.
One of the captains of the team
In fact, he is one of the team captains. Modric is the first, Carvajal is the second, followed by Lucas Vázquez. His importance extends beyond the pitch—he is a leader in the dressing room. His relentless fighting spirit perfectly embodies Real Madrid’s DNA.
And with that same Madridista DNA, he is fighting every day to recover from his serious injury. He has now been out for over five months, but yesterday, Real Madrid shared a video of him training on the field, wearing football boots and touching the ball.
First touch of a ball in months
According to him, it was a “light training session,” but judging by the video, it didn’t seem so light! 😆 He was doing various exercises—resistance drills, ball control, jumps, sprints, and more. He looked in great shape.
On top of that, he seemed to be in good spirits, saying, “One day closer to coming back.” He also mentioned that he’s making the most of this time off by spending more time with his family, something that’s usually hard with the constant matches and travel. (Always find the positive side of tough situations!)
Even though he’s looking good, we’ll need to be patient, as he still has a few months to go before full recovery. It will be very difficult for him to return this season, but with some luck, he might make it back in time for the Club World Cup.
