Ancelotti: Brazil or Saudi Arabia? Before or after the World Cup?

These days, rumors and semi-confirmations about Carlo Ancelotti’s future haven’t stopped circulating, although nothing has been made 100% official yet.

What does seem certain is that Carlo Ancelotti will not be Real Madrid’s coach next season.

However, what’s still unclear is who will replace him (Xabi Alonso, Klopp, Mourinho, Raúl, Zidane, someone else?) — and when. Just a few days ago, it was reported that Ancelotti had reached a full agreement with Brazil to take over the national team, and it even seemed imminent — right after the end of La Liga, and before the Club World Cup.

However, things have taken a sudden turn in recent hours. It now appears that no final agreement has been reached between Ancelotti, Brazil, and Real Madrid. Brazil wants him before the Club World Cup, Ancelotti wants Real Madrid to pay out the remainder (or part) of his contract, and Real Madrid doesn’t want to pay that and be left without him for the Club World Cup.

At the same time, it seems Saudi Arabia is also interested in him and would be willing to offer him a much more lucrative deal than Brazil, which has made Ancelotti reconsider.

That he will leave at the end of the season is a certainty — but what remains to be seen is his destination (Brazil or Saudi Arabia), and whether his departure comes before the Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 18 with the match against Al Hilal, or after the tournament.
