It’s official! A statement appears to have been released early from Brazil confirming that Ancelotti is the new head coach of the Canarinha.
Interestingly, everyone expected Real Madrid and Ancelotti themselves to be the ones to confirm the news first, but Brazil beat them to it.
So starting in June, he will be the new head coach:
Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF, stated:
“Appointing Carlo Ancelotti as the head of Brazil is more than a strategic decision. It’s a statement to the world of our determination to reclaim the top spot on the podium. He is the best coach in history and now leads the best national team on the planet. Together, we will write new glorious chapters in Brazilian football.”
Even on the official account in Twitter:

Is the announcement of Xabi Alonso imminent?
This means that as soon as Real Madrid also officially announces it, Xabi Alonso’s appointment could be confirmed—especially resolving the question of whether it will be Xabi Alonso who manages the team in the Club World Cup or if an interim like Solari will be needed. Everything seems to indicate that Xabi Alonso will indeed be the one in charge during the tournament.
Xabi Alonso is set to sign a contract until 2028, for three seasons.
