How to get the official Real Madrid Card

One of the biggest dreams for any Real Madrid fan is to become a club member. Unfortunately, becoming a member is almost impossible nowadays, as you must have a parent (or grandparent) who is already a member—otherwise, you cannot apply. However, what you can get is the Madridista Card.

What is the Madridista Card?

It’s important to differentiate it from being a club member. They are not the same.

Being a member means that you are one of the club’s owners, which gives you the right to request a season ticket (though it’s not guaranteed since there are more members than available tickets). Members can also become delegate members, allowing them to attend and vote in club assemblies.

As a member, you can vote in club elections and even run for president. Membership also includes discounts, free access to the Bernabeu Tour, and many other benefits.

Meanwhile, having a Madridista Card does NOT make you a club member, but it does offer some advantages. These include discounts at the official store, ticket discounts, early ticket access, discounts on the Bernabéu Tour, exclusive content access, the Hala Madrid magazine, and more—detailed below.

It’s a step above being a regular Real Madrid fan. A fun fact: the Madridista Card was an idea by José Ángel Sánchez (one of the club’s top executives), and the first person to own it was Florentino Pérez when it launched in 2001. That means Florentino’s card is #1.

The exact number of Madridista Card holders is unknown (as it renews yearly), but it’s likely more than 100,000, which is the approximate number of club members. Unlike membership, anyone in the world can get a Madridista Card.

Types of Madridista´s Card:

If you get a Madridista Card, you receive various benefits. As of today, there are three types:

Each offers different advantages. For example, you get discounts on the Bernabéu Tour, tickets for Real Madrid Femenino and Real Madrid Basketball games. However, there are no discounts for men’s football tickets, though you do get early access to purchase them (which is important since tickets often sell out, especially for big matches).

Step-by-Step Guide to Getting the Madridista Premium Card

Step 1: Registering

To guide you through the process, we’ll be getting a Madridista Premium Card in real-time.

Go to the official Madridista Card website and click “Join as Premium”.
This takes you to the registration page.
The cost is €35/year, and some benefits are listed.
Note: If you want a physical card, there is an extra €1/year fee.

Step 2: Enter Your Information

Enter your email (or member/Madridista number).
Choose a password and fill in your personal details (name, last name, date of birth, postal code, country, and phone number).

Step 3: Email Confirmation

You’ll receive an activation email. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder.
Click “Activate Account”.

Step 4: Choosing the Physical Card Option

After activating your account, you’ll be given the option to pay €1 extra to receive the physical welcome pack at home.
If you prefer digital access, you can skip this step.

The physical welcome pack includes:

✅ Player postcard with their signature
✅ Details on how to redeem your benefits

Step 5: Confirming Your Details

You’ll see a preview of your Madridista Card with your name and last name.
If there’s an error, you can edit it.
Click “Great, let’s continue”.
If you selected the physical welcome pack, enter your shipping address.

Step 6: Payment

Before paying, you’ll need to confirm your password.
Then, click “Proceed to Payment”.

Step 7: Choosing a Payment Method

You can pay with PayPal, bank transfer, or credit/debit card.
Tip: Paying with PayPal or direct debit saves you €5 (since card payments have higher fees).

So, the final price will be:

€36 (€35 + €1 for the physical pack)
OR €31 (if you use PayPal or direct debit).
Note: This €5 discount applies only for the first year. In the second year, the price returns to €35/year (without the extra €1 for the physical card).

Step 8: Finalizing Payment

Select your payment method, enter the details, and click “Pay”.
If successful, you’ll see a confirmation screen.

Step 9: Accessing Your Madridista Account

You’ll receive a confirmation email with your Madridista number (though in some cases, it may not appear immediately).

2. Enter your email and password.

Good news for Madridistas with the Premium Madridista Card, as the club has just announced that now, as a benefit, you will also get a 5% discount at the food stalls inside the stadium during matches at the Bernabéu (Members get a 10% discount).

The discount is valid while the stalls are open, meaning you can buy food there before and during the match.

How to Cancel Madridista Card Renewal

To cancel, follow these steps:

Go to your Private Area in your Madridista profile.
Click on “Subscriptions” under your Premium profile.
Select “Delete Account”.

Your account will remain active until the current billing period ends.
