If you have the Premium Madridista membership card, one of the perks is access to the Hala Madrid magazine.
In the past, the magazine was physical and delivered to your home (a shame that’s no longer the case). It also used to offer much more in-depth content. But now, with RM Play (another benefit for Madridistas), the constantly updated official website, social media, etc., the magazine isn’t as essential as it once was.
Still, it continues to be published digitally every quarter (every 3 months). This edition was sent out in April, the previous one came out in December 2024.
Main Topics
There are 3 main highlights in this edition:
- Florentino Pérez re-elected as Real Madrid President (no other candidates ran in the January election), so he will remain in office until 2029.
- Intercontinental Cup Champions (even though the match was in December, since it wasn’t covered in the previous issue, it’s featured in this one).
- Vinicius Junior wins FIFA’s The Best Award for Best Player in the World in 2024.
Real Madrid Elections
The elections were brought forward to January, and only Florentino Pérez and his board of directors ran, so they won and will serve another 4-year term. Here’s a photo of the entire board. It is composed of:
PRESIDENT: Florentino Pérez Rodríguez
VICE PRESIDENTS: Eduardo Fernández de Blas – Pedro López Jiménez – Enrique Sánchez González – Enrique Pérez Rodríguez
SECRETARY: José Luis del Valle Pérez
BOARD MEMBERS: Santiago Aguado García – Jerónimo Farré Muncharaz – Manuel Cerezo Velázquez – José Sánchez Bernal – Manuel Torres Gómez – Manuel Gómez Barrera – Gumersindo Santamaría Gil – José Manuel Otero Lastres – Nicolás Martín-Sanz García – Manuel Redondo Sierra – Catalina Miñarro Brugarolas – José Ángel Sánchez Periáñez – Francisco García Sanz
Florentino Pérez has won more trophies than any other president in Real Madrid´s history:
Intercontinental Cup
The good thing about the digital format is it allows for more interactive content. So this issue includes a video of the Intercontinental Cup final and a photo of the champions.
The Best Awards
There are also photos from the FIFA The Best Awards ceremony, where several Real Madrid players were honored, with Vinicius taking center stage after being named Best Player in the World (after losing the 2024 Ballon d’Or, which went to Rodri from Manchester City). Ancelotti, Courtois, and Jude Bellingham also received awards.
Tribute to Marcelo
The magazine also features the tribute paid to Marcelo.
Basketball News
In basketball, Sergio Llull became the player with the most appearances in Real Madrid’s history.
Winter Signings
The winter signings include Bruno Fernando for the Basketball team and Yasmin for Real Madrid Women.
The NFL is coming to the Bernabéu!
The Miami Dolphins will play an NFL game at the Santiago Bernabéu (no set date yet, but it’s rumored to be in October or November).
Tribute at the Bernabéu to the victims of the DANA storm
The magazine should have arrived in your email already.
