Real Madrid signs Huijsen for 59 million euros, according to Marca

Shortly before the Mallorca match, Spain’s most prominent sports outlet (and the number one source for Real Madrid news), Marca, announced that the signing of Dean Huijsen by Real Madrid was a done deal.

It seems that, due to a plague of injuries and with the Club World Cup just around the corner (the first match of the tournament is on June 18), Real Madrid wants to speed up its signings. That’s why reports say the club would directly pay the release clause of the Bournemouth player, which is 50 million pounds (around 59.3 million euros), payable in three installments.

The 20-year-old Spanish player has always shown that he is a Real Madrid fan (and appears to be a friend of Asensio), as well as his desire to play for Los Blancos. He has played in Juventus’ youth academy, Juventus’ first team, Roma, and currently plays for Bournemouth. He is very tall, standing at 1.97 meters.

He played in the Netherlands’ youth system but now represents the Spanish national team, as although he was born in Amsterdam, he has lived in Marbella since he was a child. In fact, his father, Donny Huijsen, was also a footballer.

We’ll have to wait for official confirmation and see whether he could join in time to play in the Club World Cup. He would be the second reinforcement after the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold (although that has also yet to be officially confirmed).

    Update 17/05/2025: Now is official!

Today, the signing of Dean Huijsen by Real Madrid has been confirmed after the release clause was paid. He will officially become a player on June 1st, which means he will be eligible to play in the Club World Cup. Both clubs and the player have announced it on social media.
