After the defeat in El Clásico and effectively saying goodbye to La Liga (although there’s still a 0.1% chance if Barcelona loses all 3 remaining matches and we win all of ours), it’s time for more bad news.
This morning, it was confirmed that Ancelotti is heading to Brazil (although Real Madrid has yet to release an official statement. They haven’t made anything official regarding Xabi Alonso either, though all signs point to him becoming the new head coach of Real Madrid).
Additionally, the two injuries sustained yesterday during the match by Lucas Vázquez and Vinicius Junior have also been confirmed (Vini himself had to be subbed off). It has also been revealed why Rodrygo didn’t play — supposedly, he had “no strength” after dealing with the flu. A somewhat weak excuse that sounds more like he’s sitting out the last two matches after it’s almost been confirmed he’s leaving Real Madrid.
The official medical reports released by Real Madrid on their website and social media are as follows:
Vinicius Jr. Medical Report
Following tests carried out today on our player Vinicius Jr. by Real Madrid’s Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a sprain in his left ankle. His recovery will be monitored.
Lucas Vázquez Medical Report
Following tests carried out today on our player Lucas Vázquez by Real Madrid’s Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the left pectineus muscle. His recovery will be monitored.
