El Clásico in the Grand Final of the 2025 Copa del Rey

Good news for football fans and lovers of great matches: we will have the best showdown, El Clásico, in the final of the 2025 Copa del Rey. Barcelona secured their spot by defeating Atlético Madrid yesterday in the second leg of the cup semifinals.

The historic football rivalry will face off once again in a final. And it might not even be the last time, as there’s still the second La Liga match against Barcelona (which could be decisive for the league title), and there’s even a chance of a super final in the Champions League—something that has never happened before.

This is exciting but also dangerous, as we can’t ignore that Barcelona is in excellent form and is possibly the best team in Europe right now. In fact, we have lost our last three encounters against them (Friendly on August 4: lost 1-2; then in La Liga on October 26: lost 0-4; and in the Spanish Super Cup final: lost 2-5). Those last two defeats were particularly painful due to the significant difference in performance.

So, will this final be an act of revenge or another humiliation? What do you think? Either way, these are the matches we love to play, no matter what happens.

    The Grand Final Details

The final will take place on Saturday, April 26, although the exact time has not yet been set. It will most likely be at 9:00 PM or close to it. The venue will be La Cartuja Stadium in Seville, which has a capacity of 60,000 but is undergoing renovations to reach 70,000 for the 2030 World Cup in Spain.

How to Buy Tickets for the Copa del Rey Final

Assuming the stadium holds around 70,000 fans (though it’s unclear if renovations have reached that capacity yet), each team will receive 40% of the tickets—meaning 40% for Real Madrid, 40% for Barcelona, and 20% for the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

Real Madrid will have about 26,031 tickets, likely distributed through a lottery among interested club members. If any remain unsold, they may be offered to Madridista Card holders—but realistically, that won’t happen, as demand is incredibly high. So, tickets will only be available if you’re a Real Madrid club member.

Some additional tickets will likely become available through the RFEF’s allocation and legal resale, though prices will be significantly higher in those cases.

It remains to be seen if giant screens will be set up in major cities for fans to watch the match together. This is sometimes done for big events, so it’s a possibility.

    Update about tickets:

We now have more details about ticket sales:

Only members over the age of five will be able to request tickets, with a maximum of six tickets per request. The system will automatically assign a reference number to each request, which will be used for the draw.

As in previous finals, tickets will be nominative and in digital format. Both the registration process for the allocated tickets and the payment will be managed through the RFEF ticket sales portal, using access codes provided by Real Madrid C.F. to the main applicant of the winning request. Additionally, tickets will be non-transferable (resale is not allowed).

It has been mentioned that on Friday, April 4, a meeting will take place at Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas between both clubs and the RFEF to determine the number of tickets allocated to each team. As previously stated, Real Madrid is expected to receive around 25,000 tickets, though it remains to be seen how many will be made available to members.

Update (04/04/2025): finally Real Madrid will have 26.031 tickets and prices around 72-270 euros.
