Tomorrow we play! La Liga is finally back (for Madridistas, international breaks feel endless without watching our favorite team).
We play at 21:00 on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu, and today, the grass has already been brought up from the hypogeum. (As you know, with the Bernabéu renovations, a hypogeum was built under the pitch, where the six grass panels are stored when there are no matches, allowing for better preservation and maintenance).
But now, it will face perhaps its biggest challenge of the season—three consecutive matches in just seven days (Saturday against Leganés, Tuesday against Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey, and Saturday against Valencia in La Liga).
We’ll have to see if it holds up well over these three games, as they are very close together, and Madrid has experienced bad weather for weeks. (Finally, the rain seems to have stopped, and hopefully, temperatures will gradually rise to resemble Madrid’s usual climate).
