A dramatic match that started in the worst possible way, with Atlético de Madrid scoring in the first play of the game at the 30-second mark. We had the advantage from the Bernabéu, but we lost it almost immediately.

We had very few chances in the first half and a few more in the second, especially the key play involving Mbappé and the penalty, which Vinicius took… but missed! A goal that would have secured qualification, making things even more complicated.

The final minutes and all of extra time were pure suffering, with the team physically struggling. Ancelotti once again made very few and very slow changes, but things still worked out for him.
In the penalty shootout, VAR was decisive, disallowing Julián’s goal due to a double touch on the ball. For Real Madrid, everyone scored except Lucas Vázquez. Marcos Llorente also missed for Atlético.
The crucial goal was once again scored by Antonio Rüdiger (just like he did against Manchester City last year).

Now onto the quarter-finals, where we’ll face Arsenal. In the semi-finals, it could be PSG or Aston Villa. Could we see a potential final against Barcelona?
